Malfunctions that may occur in various structures of steel wire braided rubber hoses
Time:2024-04-29Page views:1120Rubber hose is one of the important connecting components in modern industrial equipment and construction machinery, widely used in hydraulic systems. The correct selection of rubber hose is related to the operation of the entire hydraulic system. Here are various structural failures that occur with steel wire braided rubber hoses.
1. External adhesive layer issue
(1) Surface cracks appear
The main reason for the appearance of cracks on the surface is that the rubber hose bends under cold conditions.
(2) Bubbles appear on the surface
The reason for the appearance of bubbles on the surface is that the production quality of the hose does not meet the standards, or it may be due to improper use during work.
(3) The hose is not broken but there is a lot of oil leakage
A large amount of liquid leaked from the hose, but no cracks were found. The reason is that when the hose passes through high-pressure liquid flow, the internal rubber is eroded and scratched, until the steel wire layer leaks out on a large area, causing a large amount of leakage.
(4) The outer adhesive layer is severely degraded, with micro cracks appearing on the surface
This is a sign of natural aging of steel wire braided rubber hoses. Due to aging and deterioration, the outer layer continuously oxidizes, covering the surface with a layer of ozone. Over time, the ozone layer thickens. During use, if the hose is slightly bent, small cracks may appear. In this case, the hose should be replaced.
2. Internal adhesive layer issue
(1) The inner rubber layer has high strength and cracks: the main reason is that plasticizers are added to rubber products, making the hose flexible and malleable. However, if the hose overheats, the plasticizer will overflow.
(2) Serious deterioration and significant expansion of the inner rubber layer: The serious deterioration and significant expansion of the inner rubber layer are due to the incompatibility between the material of the inner rubber and the oil used in the hydraulic system, and the damage of the rubber hose due to chemical reactions.
3. Strengthen layer faults
(1) The braided steel wire near the fracture site rusted, and peeling off the outer rubber layer revealed that the braided steel wire near the fracture site had rusted. This is mainly due to the influence of moisture or corrosive substances on the layer, which weakens the strength of the hose and leads to rupture under high pressure.
(2) The reinforcement layer is not rusted, but it exhibits irregular wire breakage. The rubber hose ruptured, and after peeling off the outer adhesive layer, no rust was found on the reinforcement layer. However, irregular wire breakage occurred in the length direction of the reinforcement layer, mainly due to the high-frequency impact force on the steel wire braided rubber hose.
4. Rupture fault
(1) The hose has one or more cracks, which are uniform, while other parts remain in good condition. The main reason for this phenomenon is that the system pressure is too high, exceeding the pressure resistance capacity.
(2) The change at the rupture site of the hose is due to excessive changes during installation or use.
The above are the causes of rubber hose failures. From the perspective of safety factors of steel wire braided rubber hoses, the requirements of normal working environment should be considered, including anti-static, flame retardant, and atmospheric pressure resistance.
